BedWood® Replacement Wood Kits for Classic Trucks
There’s a reason few things in life get referred to as a classic. When you call something a classic, you’re equating it with something that’s timeless, has lasting worth, and is exemplary of a particular style. While we think the majority of American made trucks are classics, there are several iconic models of Ford, GM, and Chevy trucks that define the classic truck class.
If you appreciate classic trucks as much as we do, then you know how important it is to choose the right materials for your truck bed restoration project. That’s why at BedWood®, we offer everything you need to restore the factory wooden floor in your truck’s bed. Not only does our truck bed wood replacement kit arrive pre-cut, pre-milled, and pre-drilled to your truck’s factory specifications, you can also get your BedWood® pre-sealed and pre-finished and made from a wide variety of exotic hardwoods from all over the globe. Your classic truck’s bed deserves the best, and we’re ready to make it for you.
Sustainably Sourced Wood
We take pride in our way of manufacturing natural resource-based products, and all of our wood products are made from sustainably sourced lumber. Whether you’re looking for a domestically sourced wood for your classic truck like the Pine or Red Oak that would have been installed at the factory, or an upgrade to White Ash or Hickory, or something more exotic, like Leopard wood or Tiger wood, we have it all. Some of the different types of wood that we use frequently in our truck bed replacement kits are:
- White Ash
- Birdseye Maple
- Black Limba
- Black Walnut
- Brazilian Cherry
- Carbon Series
- Curly Maple
- Cypress
- Flamed Birch
- Hickory
- Leopard wood
- Padauk
- Pine
- Poplar
- Red Oak
- Sapele
- Tiger Wood
- Wormy Maple
- Zebra Wood
Drilled VS Undrilled Wood
Our classic truck bed wood replacement kits come pre-milled and pre-drilled with bed-to-frame and perimeter holes placed in the factory locations, taking the guesswork and complex measuring out of your installation. Simply square your bed, test fit the boards, seal & finish (if you didn’t order your kit pre-sealed), and then install your new bed floor.
If you’ve customized some aspects of your bed or prefer to hide your bed-to-frame mounting hardware, no problem! Just let us know that you don’t wish to have your boards pre-drilled, and we can still do all the millwork for you to allow you to place the mounting holes in your BedWood® anywhere you need them.
Pre-Finished VS Unfinished Wood
Once you’ve chosen your favorite wood for your truck bed restoration project, the next step is deciding what kind of finish you’d like to use to seal and protect your investment. Just like bare sheet metal, your BedWood® must be protected from the elements. In the case of your truck’s wooden bed floor this is to prevent moisture from soaking into the wood and causing warping, discoloration, and rot. Not a finish expert? No Problem, we are! – Bed Wood is the only manufacturer that offers pre-finishing on all our wooden bed floor products.
Just like our strategy of sustainably sourced wood, we’re environmentally conscious when it comes to our wood finishes. As the name implies, both our HydroSatin™ and HydroShine™ finish and sealers are water-based and environmentally friendly, using a proprietary formulation of penetrating exterior wood sealer that incorporates biocides, fungicides, and UV protectant to ensure long-lasting protection and a beautiful finish for your BedWood®. Both products are specially designed to seal and protect your BedWood® while accentuating the grain and your wood’s natural beauty.
HydroSatin™ - If you like a satin, non-reflective finish, HydroSatin™ is the right choice for you.
HydroShine™ - For a gloss finish that provides a great sheen while showing off the beautiful woodgrain below, our HydroShine won’t disappoint.
